Keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts let you move around SUPERWISE Chat without reaching for the mouse. This page lists every shortcut the app recognizes today.

Shortcuts use Cmd on macOS and Ctrl on Windows and Linux. Where you see Cmd/Ctrl below, press whichever key your computer uses. The app detects your platform automatically and shows the right label in the in-app shortcuts panel.

Tip: Press ? anywhere outside the message box to open the in-app shortcuts panel, and Esc to close it. (You can also open it from the help button in the app.)

These work anywhere in the app (except where noted).

Notes

  • ? opens the shortcuts panel only when you are not typing in a text field. While your cursor is in the message box or any other input, ? simply types a question mark.
  • Esc closes whatever is open on top first (a dialog, drawer, menu, or the shortcuts panel itself).

These apply while your cursor is in the message box (the composer).

ActionKeys
Send messageEnter
Start a new line (without sending)Shift + Enter
Send message (works from anywhere)Cmd/Ctrl + Enter

Send-on-Enter is configurable. By default Enter sends and Shift + Enter adds a new line. You can swap this in Settings → Preferences → Chat behavior so that Enter adds a new line and Shift + Enter sends instead. Cmd/Ctrl + Enter always sends, whichever mode you choose.

These are not modifier shortcuts — they are characters you type at the start of an entry in the message box to open an inline menu. Type the character, then keep typing to filter the menu.

To dismiss any of these menus without choosing, press Esc or delete the trigger character.

Some triggers depend on what your organization has turned on. For example, the / slash menu is off by default and is enabled per organization. If a trigger does nothing, it isn’t available in your workspace yet.
