Folders & Conversation Types

A folder is a named workspace that groups conversations, an AI assistant configuration, and a guardrail pack into one place. Use folders to keep work organized by initiative, team, or topic.

  1. Open Folders from the sidebar
  2. Click New Folder
  3. Enter a name and an optional description
  4. Click Create — the folder opens immediately
  1. Open the folder and go to the Members tab
  2. Enter a user ID and choose a role (Admin, Member, or Viewer)
  3. Click Invite

The folder creator is automatically assigned the Owner role, which cannot be changed or removed. Admins can change other members’ roles or remove them at any time.

When you open a folder, you see three tabs:

  • Chats: The number of conversations in the folder. Use the sidebar to start or browse conversations while inside the folder.
  • Members: Everyone who has access, with their role. Invite or manage members here.
  • Settings: Folder-level configuration — allowed thinking modes, guardrail profile, knowledge connectors, budget, and retention.

When you create a new conversation while a folder is active, the conversation is automatically bound to that folder. All conversations in a folder appear in the sidebar when you’re inside that folder.

SUPERWISE Chat supports three types of conversations. Each appears in a different section of the sidebar.

The default type. A one-on-one conversation between you and the AI assistant.

  • Start one: Click New Chat (the ”+” icon) in the sidebar
  • Header shows: A message icon, the conversation title, and your selected assistant, persona, and mode

A private conversation with one or more teammates. The AI assistant is still available to help.

  • Start one: In the Direct Messages section of the sidebar, click the ”+” icon and enter a user ID
  • Header shows: A speech-bubble icon, the conversation title, and participant chips for each person in the DM

You can promote a DM to a channel at any time using the Promote to channel button in the header.

A persistent, multi-user conversation. Channels support threads, pinned messages, and a moderator role.

  • Start one: Click the # icon next to “Chats” in the sidebar header, then enter a channel name
  • Header shows: A hash (#) icon, the channel name, member count, and a gear icon to open channel settings

Channel moderators can update the channel name and description, pin or unpin messages, and remove participants.
