Notifications
SUPERWISE Chat delivers in-app notifications for collaboration events: conversation sharing, mentions, connector syncs, and knowledge updates. Notifications help you stay aware of what team members share with you without needing to check conversations manually.
Where Notifications Appear
Section titled “Where Notifications Appear”The notification bell icon in the sidebar (lower left) shows an unread count badge. Click it to open the notification panel.
The panel lists your notifications newest-first. Unread notifications are highlighted. Click any notification to navigate directly to the relevant conversation, message, or collection.
Notification Types
Section titled “Notification Types”| Type | When it fires |
|---|---|
conversation_shared | Another user shares a conversation with you |
share_revoked | A previously shared conversation is revoked |
collection_shared | A knowledge collection is shared with you |
mention | You are mentioned in a message |
crawl_complete | A connector sync job completed successfully |
crawl_error | A connector sync job failed |
document_indexed | A document finished indexing into your knowledge base |
system | Platform-level announcements from your admin |
Conversation Shared
Section titled “Conversation Shared”You receive this when a teammate shares a conversation with you. The notification links directly to the shared conversation so you can read it or continue from where they left off.
Sharing is a deliberate action — you will not receive notifications for conversations you can see through folder membership, only for ones explicitly shared with you.
Mention
Section titled “Mention”If a teammate types @your-name in a message, you receive a mention notification. This works in shared conversations and in channels you are a member of.
Collection Shared
Section titled “Collection Shared”You receive this when a knowledge collection is shared with you directly. This is separate from collections attached to channels you belong to — those are accessible automatically without a notification.
System
Section titled “System”System notifications come from your tenant administrator and may announce platform updates, policy changes, quota warnings, or maintenance windows.
Managing Notifications
Section titled “Managing Notifications”Mark as Read
Section titled “Mark as Read”Click any notification in the panel to mark it read and navigate to the source.
To mark all notifications read without navigating, click Mark all read in the panel header.
Deleting Notifications
Section titled “Deleting Notifications”Click the × on an individual notification to dismiss it. Dismissed notifications are removed and cannot be recovered.
Notifications are retained for 30 days. After 30 days they are automatically removed.
Notification Preferences
Section titled “Notification Preferences”By default, all notification types are enabled. To change which events notify you:
- Click your avatar (bottom left) → Settings.
- Under Notifications, toggle each event type on or off.
- Your preferences are saved immediately.
Administrators can restrict preference changes — if a toggle is grayed out, your org has enforced that notification type.
Delivery
Section titled “Delivery”Notifications are in-app only. There is no email delivery by default.
Enterprise plan: Email and webhook delivery can be enabled by your administrator. Contact your admin or see the Admin Guide for setup instructions.
Real-time: Notifications appear immediately via server-sent events (SSE). You do not need to refresh the page.
Notification Count
Section titled “Notification Count”The badge on the notification bell shows the count of unread notifications, capped at 99+. The count updates in real time.
If you have no unread notifications, the badge is not shown.
