Connect SharePoint
If your documents already live in SharePoint, you can connect a collection to them directly instead of downloading files and uploading them again. Chat pulls the documents in, and you refresh them whenever you need to.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”SharePoint is set up once for the whole workspace by a Tenant Admin, under Tenant Settings → Integrations → Connectors. Until that’s done, the SharePoint option won’t be available on your collections. See Tenant settings.
Connect a collection to SharePoint
Section titled “Connect a collection to SharePoint”Open the collection, choose Add Source, and pick SharePoint. Select the documents you want and confirm.
- Up to 5 documents per collection — the same collection limit that applies to uploads.
- Supported types: PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, and TXT.
Connecting and removing a connector is limited to the collection’s Owner and Admins.
Keeping documents up to date
Section titled “Keeping documents up to date”Syncing is manual. Chat doesn’t watch SharePoint for changes — when a document has been edited on the SharePoint side, use Sync now on the collection to pull the current version in. Anyone with Member access or above on the collection can run a sync.
Remove the connection
Section titled “Remove the connection”Removing the connector disconnects the collection from SharePoint. It doesn’t touch anything in SharePoint itself. Only the collection’s Owner and Admins can remove it.
Related
Section titled “Related”- Collection types and sharing — who can connect, sync, and remove.
- Add a web page with a crawl — bring in a public web page instead.
