Using knowledge in a conversation
Link a collection
Section titled “Link a collection”Open the Knowledge picker next to the composer (or the conversation’s ••• menu) and choose a collection, or None to unlink. You’ll see a confirmation once it’s linked, and a pill showing the linked collection’s name appears near the composer and at the top of the conversation.
Linking knowledge is independent of which assistant you’re using — see Assistants and knowledge are independent in the two-minute tour. You can change either one without affecting the other.
How to tell what an answer drew on
Section titled “How to tell what an answer drew on”Every reply carries a badge naming where its material came from:
| Badge | What it means |
|---|---|
| Company Knowledge | The reply used the knowledge collection linked to this conversation |
| Common Knowledge | The reply came from the assistant’s general knowledge |
| Web Enriched | The reply used web search |
Only Company Knowledge involves a knowledge collection — the other two are unrelated to your collections.
A Company Knowledge reply also carries a Sources used section beneath it, listing which documents it drew from, each with a short snippet and a link you can follow to open that document.
